Welcome back to Something About Coins! The biggest coin show of the season, the World's Fair of Money, is happening at the Hynes Convention Center, 900 Boylston St., Boston, MA, today through Saturday, Aug. 10 - 14. Public hours are: 1:30 to 5:30 PM today and 9:30 AM to 5:30 PM Wednesday through Saturday. General admission is $6. Children 12 and under are admitted free. Legend Numismatics Acquires, Sells, Exhibits Proof 1804 Gold & Silver Eagles,
Two extremely rare, historic 19th century United States pattern coins sold by Legend Numismatics of New Jersey will be exhibited at the World's Fair of Money in Boston, August 10 - 14, 2010. One of the three known proof 1804 Eagles made on behalf of President Andrew Jackson and a rare 1804 Eagle silver pattern have been acquired by Legend Numismatics of Lincroft, New Jersey and sold to a Texas collector. Multi-Million Dollar Collection on Display at Boston World's Fair of Money,
The number one-ranked collection of United States large cents in the PGCS Set Registry listing will be publicly displayed for the first time in Boston, August 10 - 13, 2010, at the American Numismatic Association World's Fair of Money. ... numbers don't lie, but they can be wrong. In the case of certified coin populations, such as the NGC Census Report, there are a couple of ways the numbers can be wrong. Clerical errors are easily corrected, but another source is more insidious: the re-submission. Imagine a coin in an AU55 NGC holder. For whatever reason, the owner thinks it's undergraded. Numismatic Theatre Presentations at Boston ANA World’s Fair of Money,
Numismatic Theatre, a popular part of the American Numismatic Association's convention education programs, has been finalized for the 2010 ANA World's Fair of Money, Aug. 10-14 in Boston. Numismatic Theatre consists of 30-40 minute presentations given by ANA members on a wide range of topics. Presentations will be held Aug. 11 and Aug. 13-14 in Room 209 of the Hynes Convention Center.
